not yet dead

This is a new post under which last year's Eng Lit diehards can post to their heart's content, rather than wading through the comments of posts from over a year ago (gulp! has it really been that long?).

This is probably just more for my convenience, as I am a sad little creature who spends too much time on the internet. But perhaps not. :-)

Anyhow, I hope you're all well!

A joke (my apologies)

Well, I said I would publish this joke, so here it goes. Stop me if you've heard this one--oh wait, you can't, I'm typing it.

The captain of a galleon finds his ship beset by two pirate ships. He can't outrun them, so he is forced to fight. "Fetch my red shirt," he tells his first mate as the enemy ships overtake his own vessel.

In the ensuing fight, the captain almost single-handedly repels the pirates. There is much rejoicing amongst members of his crew.

Several days later, the captain finds his ship beset my four pirate ships. "Fetch my red shirt," he shouts to his first mate; subsequently he vanquishes many of the pirates who seek to overtake his vessel.

After this, in awe his first mate asks him, "Captain, why do you always call for your red shirt when we are under attack?"

Calmly, the Captain replies, "If I am wounded, my men cannot see the blood as it flows from my body, and they will continue to fight bravely."

The first mate is stunned by the chivalry and boldness of this answer. "Bless you, my captain," he replies.

Several days later, their ship is beset by seven pirate ships. "Captain," says the first mate, "shall I fetch your red shirt?"

"Yes," the captain replies, "and my brown pants."

This is for the hoverers...

This is for the hoverers. I figured that if anyone still posts here anymore, ever, that at least we'll have a semi-recent post to begin under.

I still don't know, though...Is this blog dead? Ah, well. Anyone who still hovers, hover here. :-)

And so this blog entry is not entirely useless and empty, I'll try to think of something to say. Oh, I know. Ayla and I talked yesterday of how we miss literature class. Block C just isn't the same anymore...I'm the only one from our literature class taking French 12, and it's during the same block, with teleconferencing and everything, but it isn't even close to the same. It's almost tragic, actually, when you thnik about it. Ha. When I read my poetry books at home now and come across something we did in literature class, I smile. Yay!

Anyone else homesick for literature class? Haha. I already know the answer! :-) How sad.

Anyhow, long live the hoverer. I'm on my study and I am going to go STUDY now. Fancy that!

let's add to our story!

I'm mostly posting just because I can, but I also want to encourage everyone to add to "Mary Shelley's Ghost Story, vol. 3" It would be neat if the story actually went someplace. :-)

What is due when?

On our board (at Kelly Road) we have due dates, except next to some, there are question marks, and some are crossed out, with other things written......anyway, it's gotten very confusing, and I am not sure when things are due. Mr. Carson, if you could maybe post due dates for things, that would be super wonderful. (I am very good with adjectives) Or if anyone else knows the actual date that things are due...just post?

Thank you very much!
Have a good weekend everyone!
